Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Accountant to provide direct support to the Controller in managing the firm’s financial operations. This entry-to-mid-level role is ideal for candidates looking to grow their career in accounting and auditing while working closely with senior leadership. The Associate Accountant will assist with daily accounting tasks, financial reporting, and compliance activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency across the firm’s financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Controller in preparing financial statements, management reports, and audit schedules.
  • Record and reconcile daily transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for compliance and audit readiness.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support financial decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Provide administrative and analytical support for budgeting and forecasting activities.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills for working with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting or auditing (internship experience acceptable for entry-level).
  • CPA certification or progress toward CPA designation is a plus.
